Homeowners, let me ask you a few questions...
- Over the past few years have you wished you could take advantage of the low interest rates to make a move to a larger home for an ever growing family?
- Have you wanted to downsize since the kids have been gone for a few years but you have not been able to sell since you have been upside down with your mortgage?
- Have you been afraid to put your house up for sale because you have heard it's a buyer's market and houses just "sit" there?
It was challenging to try to sell a home from 2008 to 2011. The market for the seller has dramatically improved. It improved quite a bit in 2012, but it is red hot right now!
I started as a Realtor in the Atlanta real estate market back in 1988 and I can tell you this is the single best time since then to be a home seller. First quarter sales are up 14% over last year and a massive 85 % over 2009. The number of sales from this quarter would be even higher if there were more homes for sale.
The single biggest problem today for Realtors and home buyers is the
lack of homes for sale. When a home hits the market today in an area with quality schools and the home is priced fairly it is common place for the home to receive multiple offers within the first week! Yes, it's really that much different.
Alpharetta, Johns Creek, and South Forsyth are areas in high demand right now, so if you have been considering selling your home, call me. I'd love to get your house on the market in front of this overflow of eager buyers.
